First Time?

Starting with a new group can be quite daunting. Can I keep up? Do I have the right bike? Will they wait for me?

Make yourself known to the rides leader

We wont leave you behind. It is okay to not ride all the way but please let the leader know when you leave. If you are at the back let someone else know before you stop. We always re-regroup at the top of hills or after a road junction. Look at the rides details, build up your stamina before attempting the longest rides.

Dont buy a special bike

Make sure yours is ready for the ride.

What do you need?

- Identification
- Emergency contact number
- Inner tube, pump, tyre levers
- Lights
- Drink
- Money
- Waterproof

Riding in a group

Riding close to other cyclists takes practice. Relax and enjoy the company but always allow for others in front and behind. Everyone in the group lets the others know of hazards, changes in riding pattern, cars coming by. Learn the calls and signals we use. Our guide to group riding is here

About our leaders

They are all volunteers who offer to share their local knowledge and experience, please follow their advice and instructions for everyones enjoyment. Stick to the rules of the road or countryside when riding. You are still responsible for yourself even in a group.

Easy Saturday Starter Rides - Both on and off road

Cycling - a great way to get fit in good company.

These are the easiest rides we run. If you are not sure that you can manage to keep up then start here. We ride at a leisurely pace ideal for newcomers and families. We welcome all cyclists - women and men of all ages. Children are welcome provided they bring along a responsible adult.
