Ride Grades

Cycling - a great way to get fit in good company.

We grade our rides to give you an at-a-glance idea of whether the ride is suitable for you. The codes are listed in the table below.

For example a ride graded D1 will be a 15-20 mile ride with some easy off road and one graded A(100) will be a fast road ride covering 100 miles.

Grade code Explanation
A (n) Long ride at faster pace of 56 miles or more (number of miles)
B Average ride at moderate pace of 40 to 55 miles.
C Shorter ride at slower pace of 25 to 39 miles.
D Short ride at slower pace of 15 to 24 miles.
1 Rides with this symbol/number have some easy off road content
2 Rides with this symbol/number have some medium difficulty off road content
3 Rides with this symbol/number have some challenging off road content
W/E Weekend away

* Helmets We leave it up to you but our off-road ride leaders feel that they are essential for off-road rides. If a ride leader requests it then this symbol is added to the information about the ride.
